What Is Thermally Conductive Adhesive Tape?

Thermally conductive adhesive tape — also called thermal interface tape — is a double-sided tape that bonds a heat-generating component to a heat sink or housing while conducting heat across the bond line. The adhesive is a pressure-sensitive acrylic filled with thermally conductive particles such as ceramic or boron nitride, so it replaces both a mechanical fastener and a separate thermal interface material (TIM) in one step.
